Sanibonani in your community
“Sanibonani” is a labor of love that brings together a talented and diverse group of artists to create a powerful and thought-provoking performance. Through its exploration of history, culture, and social movements, the show offers audiences a chance to reflect on the shared experiences and struggles of people across the African diaspora and beyond. "Sanibonani" is a show that is not only entertaining but also deeply meaningful and resonant. Our pilot production debuted at the Hult Center For Performing Arts in our home town of Eugene, Oregon in February 2024 to a sold out audience.
Sanibonani’s pilot production involved collaboration with students and professors at the University of Oregon. As this show comes to other areas, we aim to include those communities, giving them an opportunity to learn about African culture, dance style and history. By offering dance classes in South African gumboots and Pantsula style, and providing costumes and props to students at universities, local studios, and other schools, we are not only spreading awareness but also nurturing talent. This allows qualified dancers a unique opportunity to learn from world class teachers and become part of our performance creating a professional and inclusive environment.
